We kicked off our first of a possible four 6-a-side football tournament on Sunday. After a bit of a stutter at the start we managed to get the games going and everything started to run smoothly. 10 teams competed with some good quality football and some cracking matches.

The overall winners being the Chelsea CITC boys beating Notin’her Forest 1-0 in the final. They get a Corporate membership card to Spearmint Rhino (worth over £1000)! I’m sure they will get some good use out of it too!

Thanks to all who turned up and supported us. As I have said this was the first tournament and we will iron out the rough edges and make some changes so that the next one on Sunday 22nd June is even better.

JOG Offshore Championship 2008

The North Sails Nab Tower Race Saturday 12th April 2008.

Both of us competed in the Nab Tower race on Saturday with the Jeez-Louise Squad racing as ‘J’nickit’ We came a magnificent 2nd in our class and 5th overall an extremely pleasing day had by all. Thanks again to Jem, Tim, Steve, Dan & George for having us on board.We also delivered the boat from Brighton to Hamble on the Friday and then back on the Sunday, which was a great learning curve and brilliant experience for getting our sea legs in. Unfortunately due to the snow this morning the the tournament had to be cancelled. The K2 leisure centre made the decision to cancel all play for safety reasons. It was extremely unlucky that the weather came when it did. We would have liked to have waited longer in-case the weather cleared but due to teams travelling from different parts of the country there was really no choice.

We will email teams later in the week about the change of date and hopefully all will be able to attend on the 20th.

Apologies to all who had taken the time out of their schedules to take part and hope the weather forecast is better in two weeks time!

We have organised a football event at the K2 Leisure centre, Crawley on Sunday 6th April. A fun tournament of 16 teams the winners receiving a Corporate membership card to Spearmint Rhino (worth over £1000)!

It should be a fun day even with the forecast of snow! If you happen to be in the area pop down as we will have food and refreshments and if your feeling up for it a competition on the rowing machines.

We have the local paper coming down and will hopefully have some photos to share on here in the coming days.
