Sunday saw a land mark in our progress a year down the line we were back for the Barns Green Half Marathon this time last year the infamous Kayak made its debut at this event. Looking back over the last 12 months progress has been made in leaps and bounds; it was an idea, a thought and probably still a dream back then. 

This year however, there was no Kayak, now known as the ‘body bag’ after the puncture it suffered at the Sussex Beacon Marathon. Every child we passed said, ‘Dad why are they carrying a body bag?’ Dad replies; “I’m not sure son, maybe it’s what they will be coming home in after attempting such a stupid challenge!” So, as the puncture still remains with no replacement valve to be found it’s probably just as well it keeps its’ place in the garage locked away!

Guy completed the race in a PB time of 1hr 45mins, with myself strolling to the finish in 2 hours. Check out the comedy value from last years run below!
